The artist formerly known as 'Kanye West' continues to do as he pleases. And while it's still early in 2025, more than one YZY footwear product has already been linked to Ye. The latest arrives in the form of a chunky design Ye has confirmed as the YZY BL-01.
Fresh off a surprise launch of the $20 YZY Slippers, the new laceless shoe has been unveiled by YEEZY MAFIA. Throughout Ye's tenure with Adidas (which ended badly in October 2022), the anonymous outlet previewed handfuls of Yeezys long before their releases. Thus, giving credence to a first-look at the unnamed silhouette.
At quick glance, the upcoming YZY 'Bullys' (as Ye's dubbed 'em) resemble Prada's America's Cup, but closer inspection reveals through-lines to designs from Ye's catalog. Exaggerated proportions and reinforced layers across the upper harken back to some of the chunkiest Adidas Yeezy models, with (seemingly) premium materials at and around the tongue evoking images of the Yeezy 750. Outsoles, however, draw the clearest comparison to Ye's past work, as the serrated tread immediately recalls the popular Yeezy Slides and avant-garde Knit Runner.
The former 'Mr. West' took to Instagram earlier today to share just how much money he'd made on YZY sales in 24 hours: $2,339,096 USD. It's no secret the multi-hyphenate has had a knack for moving product, but what's been surprising is just how much money he's made primarily selling $20 product. It's unlikely the 'Bullys' will be priced as low as the YZY SL-01 due to their robust construction, but Ye could offer the laceless silhouette cheaper than he was forced to price his work for both Nike and Adidas in order to make a statement.
No firm release details have been disclosed by YEEZY MAFIA or Ye, but that's likely to change in the coming months (perhaps during the Super Bowl?). In the meantime, enjoy photos of the first YZY BL-01 ahead.
