Who would've guessed one of the more popular sneakers of the year branded with 3-Stripes would be a modern performance running shoe? Perhaps the brand anticipated the Adidas Adizero Evo SL to take off within the lifestyle space, but the LIGHTSTRIKE PRO-cushioned design continues to help athletes train for their best.
Although fans are eager to see what modifications are offered through the anticipated Evo SL 2, it seems the German sportswear juggernaut is taking an off-road detour, developing the Evo SL ATR (presumably "All-Terrain") before delivering the official sequel of its beloved trainer.
At quick glance, the Adizero proposal could be mistaken for just a special take on the original Evo SL, but close inspection reveals a number of significant tweaks to add up to create a new franchise. An all-"Core Black" style has launched in select markets across Europe, confirming updates. The aforementioned LIGHTSTRIKE PRO foam still makes up the entirety of the midsole, but it's now coupled with a smaller, dog bone-shaped nylon stiffening agent to enhance the ride's smoothness. Underfoot, Continental™ rubber coverage is modified for all terrains; 1.5 millimeter lugs provide additional traction whether on snow-covered city streets or wet mountain trails.
Up top, the Adizero Evo SL ATR also features a refresh that makes it more protective and durable in harsher conditions than straightforward road running. According to product pages, the upper consists of a water-repellent ripstop woven mesh. A protective mudguard and pull tabs on the tongue and hind-foot inject added functionality to the running model. Reflective accents also join select colors of the trail-ready design to give wearers a peace-of-mind wherever they are.
Enjoy official photos of some of the forthcoming Evo SL ATR pairs ahead. Most pairs should release via Adidas.com and other shops before Spring 2026.
