Adidas Originals has unveiled the Adizero Goukana, a new silhouette that bridges performance heritage and contemporary street culture. Making its debut through a limited-edition launch with Los Angeles retailer UNDEFEATED, the release sets the tone for a new chapter in the brand’s lifestyle catalog.
Rooted in the design DNA of the 2008 Adios Neftenga—a prototype that resurfaced through a Wales Bonner collaboration in 2024—the Goukana pays homage to adidas’ storied performance lineage. The name "Goukana," meaning "luxurious and plush" in Japanese, honors the legacy of Mr. Toshiaki Omori, the designer behind the original adiZero line.
True to its name, the Goukana arrives with a premium suede, mesh, and reflective synthetic upper, anchored by an oversized sole unit engineered to match today’s baggier silhouettes. While lifestyle in intent, the Goukana borrows Lightstrike cushioning from the brand’s elite marathon and basketball models, delivering lightweight responsiveness and off-duty comfort already favored by athletes like Jalen Green and Travis Hunter.
Adidas continues its push behind the all-new Adizero Goukana silhouette with the reveal of a fresh “Preloved Ink” colorway. First launched via a collaborative drop with UNDEFEATED, the lifestyle model now expands into general release territory with a string of new makeups—this navy and red edition being among the first revealed.
Rooted in the 2008 Adios Neftenga prototype, the Goukana draws from performance heritage while embracing contemporary street style. Designed by Toshiaki Omori, the mind behind the original adiZero series, the model blends premium lifestyle aesthetics with elite performance tech. Its name, “Goukana”—Japanese for “luxurious and plush”—reflects its elevated approach.
The “Preloved Ink” colorway arrives with a dark navy mesh and suede upper, metallic Three Stripes, and bold red accents through the midsole and outsole tread. Black liners and tongue branding complete the look, which still features the signature Lightstrike midsole and oversized heel unit.
There’s no confirmed release date yet for the Adidas Adizero Goukana “Preloved Ink,” but it’s expected to arrive on adidas.com in the coming weeks.
