Adidas and Anthony Edwards with the Minnesota Timberwolves celebrated a special night on December 2, as the spotlight shone on Anthony Edwards and his incredible journey with the team. The evening marked Anthony Edwards Night at the Target Center in Minneapolis, and the centerpiece of the celebration was the debut of the unreleased adidas AE 1 Low “Nick’s Gift.”
Inspired by Edwards' best friend, Nick Maddox, the Nick’s Gift colorway was a heartfelt tribute to their eight-year-long friendship. The shoes has an icy blue upper, mirroring the Timberwolves' City Edition colors, and instead of Edwards' initials, the shoe features Nick's initials on the tongue and insole, making this version extra personal.
Before the game, Nick, in partnership with adidas and Foot Locker, made a grand entrance at the Target Center in a peach-wrapped delivery truck packed with Nick’s Gift AE 1 Lows, AE posters, and exclusive AE merch to give away to fans in attendance. As the game tipped off, Anthony Edwards, along with Timberwolves mascot ‘Crunch’ and the Timberwolves dancers, debuted the new colorway on court for fans to see live in action.
Adidas took over the Target Center with exciting promotional displays, interactive activations, and exclusive giveaways to celebrate Anthony Edwards' rise as one of the NBA’s brightest stars. The Timberwolves also delivered an unforgettable performance on the court, clinching a 109-80 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers.
For the fans who couldn’t attend the celebration, can still grab the Adidas AE 1 Low “Nick’s Gift” when it officially drops for $110 on December 14 at adidas.com and select Foot Locker locations.
