Food-inspired sneakers have long been a favorite footwear, from Jordan Brand’s recent diner-themed packs to the legendary “Chunky Dunky” Nike SB Dunk. Adidas has honed in on the concept for Día de Muertos (Day of the Dead), recreating the day of remembrance's emblematic pan de muerto (bread of the dead) with the Campus 00s.
Not to be mistaken with a burger bun, the special-edition Adidas Originals takes on a "Warm Sand/Core Black/Off-White" color palette that works with sesame seed embroidery across the profiles to faithfully recreate the aforementioned bread. The pan dulce is traditionally placed on altars set up by loved ones for those who've transitioned to the afterlife.
The Adidas Campus 00s “Pan de Muerto” is currently available via Adidas.com for $120.
