Let’s be real, the Crazy BYW X 2.0 didn’t take off anywhere near what adidas expected it to. There wasn’t much noise surrounding its debut late last year — in fact, there were crickets. But the silhouette has been invigorated by its recent inclusion in Pharrell’s recent colorful collaborative collection. Now that it has the market’s attention, it’s up to the silhouette’s in-line releases to do the heavy lifting — and with releases like this Wolverines-inspired take, we may just see it catch on.
Aside from the fact that this is a dedicated hoop shoe, it’s jersey-style mesh uppers further engrain the hardwood DNA into it’s aesthetic. Here, it arrives in an eye-popping golden yellow, with stark blacks providing strong lines and bold contrast throughout. Michigan navy blue sits prominently on the tongue in suede, while neon yellow — a strange inclusion — pops up along the eyelets, midsole and Torsion system to complete the design.
A release date is yet to be announced, but you can expect them to drop on adidas.com and at select retailers in the coming weeks. Until then, take in an official look at the pair her below, and make sure you’re following HOUSE OF HEAT on Twitter for further updates.
