In recent times, adidashas taken Derrick Rose’s signature sneaker line on a trip down memory lane. From straight-up reissues to retro-inspired colorways, the Three Stripes has done a lot for the hardcore fans of Pooh’s sneakers. Now, after repurposing the colorway for the D Rose 10 last year, adidas brings the famed “Boardwalk” colorway from 2013’s D Rose 4 to his current silhouette, the D Rose 11.
When it originally released, its combo of Prism Mint, Tech Beige, and Pink was an instant hit in the South Beach-brimming era. But it wasn’t actually SoBe-inspired; it actually stemmed from the other side of the nation as a dedication to the Southern California beaches where Derrick rehabilitated his knee surgery the previous Summer.
The colorway is always a hit, and we’re expecting it to bring the same energy with it hits select retailers later this year — though just when they will arrive remains uncertain. Update 04.02.21 adidas US has just confirmed a release date for the D Rose 11 “Boardwalk” for April 17th. PAirs will be available from the official adidas web store from 3 am ST for $120.
