Former MVP Derrick Rose has been on one this year and is showing no signs of slowing down post-30. In fact, he seems to be speeding things up for the first time in a long long time. The same can be said for his Three Stripe backers, who, after issuing a flurry of killer D Rose 10colorways and ordering the first-ever retros of the D Rose 1, have been busy cooking up his next signature silhouette, the D Rose 11.
First looks at the sneaker show a body built in a similar style to the Marquee BOOST, although the pair instead contains full-length LIGHTSTRIKE cushioning, which is, in my opinion, the better tech for hooping. It comes loaded with tongue and ankle padding, oversized heel counter/lateral stabilizer, translucent overlays and warped herringbone traction underfoot. It comes complete with D Rose branding on the heels and adidas logos on the tongues — and how about those wild gradient midsoles?! 🔥
Now, normally we wouldn’t see this until next season — so why they’ve popped up so early at an adidas-specific even in Asia has us intrigued. A timeframe for their release was not specified, but due to the timing, they may be preemptive for a hometown All-Star Weekend launch in Chicago, should Derrick be fortunate enough for selection.
