Damian Lillard's Adidas Dame 9 Draws Inspiration from His "Heart of Ice"

Damian Lillard is having a great sophomore season as a Milwaukee Buck. Although he's a lot more than a scorer, the Oakland, Calif. native has made a name for himself by displaying a killer's instinct during important, high-pressure moments. It's this reputation that has seemingly inspired his latest Adidas Dame 9, which features a heart of ice graphic on the insole.

Soon-to-be proceeded by the Dame X, Lillard's 10th signature sneaker unveiled during NBA All-Star Weekend 2025, the Dame 9 continues to deliver an impressive performance package for under $130. Over its lifespan, the silhouette has emerged in a number of colorways inspired by Lillard's personal story and current team. The latest 'Footwear White/Lucid Cyan' offering seems to draw from the idea that Lillard has "ice in his veins," an attribute that's enabled him to take over games and moments like few players have in the last 15 years.

While different in color palette to the 'Dame Time' Adidas Superstar, the latest Dame 9 also embodies the guard's spirit. 'Lucid Cyan' animates all the branding across the upper, as well as the icy pattern that appears along the lower profiles. Multi-directional tread underfoot also follows suit. The sneaker's theme comes together via the special graphic printed on the insole.
