Few players are having the season Donovan Mitchell is. In addition to averaging more than 20 points per game and helping his Cleveland Cavaliers secure the top spot in the NBA's Eastern Conference, the guard is receiving a seventh signature sneaker with adidas – aptly dubbed the D.O.N. Issue #7.
Unveiled alongside brandmate Damian Lillard's Dame X, the latest from adidas Basketball further cements Mitchell as a future face for the brand. The D.O.N. Issue #7 introduces a low-cut silhouette enhanced by a novel zipper shroud. The added layer (absent on Mitchell's previous sneaker) adds a touch of elegance to the guard's signature series, streamlining the model's profile for a faster look. adidas' Spida-Mitchell logo peeks out from the top of the tongue. A hidden, traditional lacing system ensures reliable security.
Structurally, the shoe employs a synthetic upper adorned with curved grid and dotted patterns at the toe and profiles, respectively. The latter forms adidas' iconic 3-Stripes towards the rear. A neoprene bootie encased in mesh ensures comfort and ease of movement, while LIGHTSTRIKE PRO cushioning underfoot works in-tandem with a carbon fiber-like shank at the mid-foot for responsiveness. Lastly, a pull tab at the heel simplifies the on-and-off process.
