Jerry Lorenzo's Fear of God Athletics project with Adidas hasn't entirely been smooth-sailing, but the partnership continues to develop and deliver new product.
At the end of 2024, Lorenzo's Three Stripes imprint tapped Derrick Rose to help launch the II Basketball High and Mid. Neither party has been vocal about the next batch of products, but official photos obtained by House of Heat° suggest that the Fear of God Athletics Trainer is on the way.
The newly-surfaced silhouette features a similar design language as Lorenzo's other work with Adidas, as well as his main, upscale Fear of God line. The Athletics Trainer, however, most closely resembles a sneaker the 47-year-old designer previewed via Instagram in May 2023.
Dubbed the 'Three Model' by Lorenzo, the sneaker featured a mid-to-high collar, lockdown strap across the laces, and a combination of seemingly-premium fabrics throughout the upper. A bumper-like component also wrapped around the lower heel, while 3-Stripes branding appeared on the toe. While unbeknownst to the world at the time, the 'Three Model' seemed to be cushioned with the same LIGHTSTRIKE cushioning seen on the I Basketball and II Basketball models that've since released.
The Fear of God Athletics Trainer's debut style maintains its predecessor's 'Night Brown' tone, but couples it with a muted 'Sesame' at the reworked toe. Branding is kept to an extreme minimum on the silhouette, with no obvious reference to the partnership made throughout the upper or sole unit. Lace toggles, however, reveal the same 3-Stripes logo that's been seen on other product by Lorenzo for Adidas.
It's still possible that the American creative releases the 'Three Model' to the public; in fact, the shoe was featured in a February 2024 collection lookbook leaked across social media. Whether or not that will be Fear of God Athletics' most performance-driven offering has yet to be seen.
Enjoy official photos of the Trainer below. The 'Night Brown/Sesame' style is likely to launch via the Adidas CONFIRMED app throughout summer for about $250.
