With Time Magazine naming the sneaker as one of the 25 best inventions of 2017, the hype for the adidas Futurecraft 4Dwas at unprecedented heights, despite its wild $300 price tag. When the pair released a few months after the fact, resale was high; demand was, too. Unfortunately, adidas couldn’t keep up with the demand, releasing 4D-laden drops few and far between. They also had trouble reigning in the price point, and could only do so until tech became more advanced. It’s noted that adidas lost out on a huge opportunity, but has since seen a mini resurgence thanks to a bevy of new models, and more importantly, a significantly lower price point. But through all the new silhouettes, there’s still nothing quite like the original, which makes this news even sweeter to deliver; 2018’s OG adidas Futurecraft 4D “Core Black” is coming back this Spring.

Praised for its liquid plastic outsoles that can be customized to precisely fit a runner’s foot in mere hours — a process that would typically take days, if not weeks — and loved for its aesthetically-pleasing structure. The debut colorway of Black/Green was obviously a winner from the start, with the blocking and colors immediately drawing your eye to the award-winning tech. Reflective Three Stripes on the uncaged upper adds a little oomph to the all-black weave, while mini branding at the tongue and classic black outsoles keep the pair on the minimal straight and narrow. The best news about the reissue is the price point, with adidas now listing pairs at $220 — almost 25% off the original 2018 MSRP.

After hitting the adidas App in Europe earlier this week, adidas US has confirmed their release on the OG Futurecraft 4D for March 20th. Pairs will be available via raffle entry through their CONFIRMED App, which you can download here.
