Philip Lipschutz of UNheardof has taken to New York Fashion Week to unveil his next adidas Originals sneaker collaborations: the "Doggy Runner" AdiStar Control 5 inspired by his dog, Otto.
Akin to the handful of pig-informed projects before it, the "Doggy Runner" pair is covered in carefully-considered details that bring the story behind it to life. The sneaker's predominantly black construction pulls from Otto's fur; his features (e.g. paw print) are incorporated throughout the retro runner. In true dog owner fashion, Lipschutz and team have hidden a squeaky toy inside the tongue.
This is a play on the tried-and-proven tale of wanting to keep dogs away from your shoes as the adidas collab actually invites dogs like Otto to play with it.
Furthermore, the UNheardof frontman touches on the importance of animal rescue and companionship through his "Doggy Runner" project.
Official launch details haven't been provided as of writing, but the "Doggy Runner" should release before the holidays get going.
