adidas FYW 98 Gets Made Up in Metallic Gold

One of the biggest surprise reissues of 2019 was December’s drop of the FYW 98, one of the most audacious mainstream designs of its time. And, after a successful launch of it’s OG colorway, adidas look to explore new and fittingly adventurous colorways. Joining the previously-previewed “Joker” and “Wave Runner” renditions, comes this bold Metallic Gold effort that’s inspired by Space Travel.

It arrives accompanied by a matching NMD R1, with a communal palate of off-white, red, blue, black and gold. Here, the upper is issues in off-white mesh, while gold overlays, tongues, and vamps provide the pair with its interstellar aesthetic. Profile strikes in blue, black and red draw from spacesuit embellishments, and the pair rests atop a sail midsole (popped with more gold) and black rubber outsole.
