In an ode to heritage Ivy League style, adidas is set to release two general-release colorways for the six-decade-old yet ever-fresh Gazelle Indoor.
The adidas Gazelle Indoor, known for its understated style, has often been a canvas for collaborations and creative reinterpretations, as seen in past partnerships with Sean Wotherspoon and Gucci. This time, however, the sneaker is stripping back the layers and embracing a return to fundamentals.
Against the backdrop of speculation that the Gazelle Indoor might have exhausted its reservoir of creativity, adidas proves the critics wrong by unveiling two new colorways that are both subtle and stylish. One of the sneakers features a lush “Collegiate Burgundy” hue, crafted with a suede upper that is soft to the touch. This rich tone also makes an appearance on the leather Three Stripe branding of the second sneaker in the duo, a pair clad in "Blue Dawn" suede.
Both sneakers share common design elements, including a “Cream/White” leather tongue, quarter overlay, and collar lining, which contrast exquisitely with the deeper tones of the shoe. Adding a touch of classic elegance, adidas has applied its customary gold foil logos in a debossed effect, enhancing the rich heritage ostensibly associated with the designs.
Pairs will be available in the U.S. come August 1st, 2023, through the official adidas website — if you can't wait, pairs are available from international retailers like Mr Porter.
