New York–based skate imprint Hardies is set to reconnect with adidas once again, this time through a premium take on the Gazelle Indoor.

Founded in 2015 by professional skateboarders Tyshawn Jones and Na-Kel Smith, Hardies has built a reputation around understated graphics, skate-first credibility, and a refusal to chase trends—qualities that continue to resonate well beyond skateboarding.

This upcoming Hardies x adidas Gazelle Indoor leans into texture and restraint rather than overt branding. The pair arrives in a warm orange palette, pairing shaggy suede overlays with breathable mesh underlays for a layered look that feels both vintage and modern. Deep green Three Stripes cut through the upper, each finished with small rhinestone studs that add a touch of signature Hardies flair. A grippy gum sole anchors the design, while co-branded details on the tongue and heel complete the collaboration.

While the Gazelle Indoor has long been a lifestyle staple, its flat profile and responsive feel make it a natural fit for skate-inspired reinterpretations. That connection isn’t new for these two; Hardies and adidas previously teamed up in 2017 on a Matchcourt collaboration, a project that reinforced the brand’s skateboarding foundation while quietly expanding its audience into the mainstream sneaker scene.

Nearly a decade later, skatewear remains firmly embedded in the broader streetwear conversation. Labels like Palace and Supreme continue to shape the market, while high-profile skate-driven footwear projects—such as recent SB collaborations tied to Dashawn Jordan and Yuto Horigome—have helped bring skate culture back to the center of fashion and footwear discussions.

The Hardies x adidas Gazelle Indoor is expected to release on April 18 for $120 via adidas and select retailers.
