Considering the fact that adidas Hoops’ athletes Damian Lillard and Donovan Mitchell have already rolled out their next signature installments, you’d be right in thinking that their marquee athlete in James Harden wouldn’t be far behind them. And now after months of teasers, official imagery for the first handful of adidas Harden Vol. 5 Futurenatural releases have appeared. Following on from Chapter 1’s “Creator” comes this floral-popped aqua arrangement dubbed Chapter 2: Support
Created by Jalal Enayah, a former designer of Jordan Westbrook products, Harden’s fifth signature sneaker keeps some similar elements from the preceding silhouette, with textured midsoles, 3/4 height, and overall shape evolving ever so slightly. The all-aqua base ditches the traditional mesh and opts for lightweight synthetic fabrications, while its mid-foot lacestay overlay has been altered in shape to appear like a W in shape. This pair, in particular, has migrated the tongue pull Three Stripes down to the lateral midfoot before being bumped out with peaceful two-dimensional motifs, including flowers, clouds, butterflies, and doves throughout. Completing the design is a tonal JH motif on the medial tongue, and technical text at the midfoot that announces the sneaker; “Volume: 5/Chapter: 2/Support”
