Brand
adidas and Major League Soccer have officially unveiled the 2026 adidas x MLS Archive Collection, bringing retro-inspired third kits and matching jackets to eight clubs across the league.
Now in its third year, the Archive Collection continues to dig into each club’s history and hometown culture, using old uniforms, local landmarks and soccer references to shape new looks. Austin FC, CF Montréal, Chicago Fire FC, Houston Dynamo FC, Orlando City SC, Philadelphia Union, Real Salt Lake and Vancouver Whitecaps FC make up this year’s lineup, joining 15 clubs featured across the 2024 and 2025 editions.
The rollout follows an early campaign that saw James Harden, Zara Larsson, Cavan Sullivan, Alex Warren, Diplo and Willie Nelson preview pieces from the collection.
Each of the eight clubs receives a new third jersey and matching jacket, with the kits set to appear on the pitch throughout the remainder of the 2026 MLS season.
Austin FC
Austin moves away from its usual club colors for the first time, instead leaning into the city’s “Violet Crown” nickname. Purple tones reference Austin’s well-known sunset glow, while retro typography gives the kit a distinctly throwback feel.
CF Montréal
Montréal reaches back to 1993, when the Montréal Impact played its first professional match away from home. The design reworks the club’s original away kit and includes a vintage MLS logo alongside a “1993” sign-off.
Chicago Fire FC
Chicago remixes its 2000 away jersey, bringing back a large “CHICAGO” wordmark across the chest. Navy and red accents tie the throwback design back to the club’s current Forever Red identity.
Houston Dynamo FC
Houston’s look celebrates both the city’s soccer history and the 20th anniversary of the Dynamo’s first MLS Cup. The jersey incorporates a pattern inspired by the ceiling of the Houston Astrodome, while 2006-07 championship references appear throughout.
Orlando City SC
Orlando pulls from several eras of local soccer. The kit combines the Lions’ 1980s wordmark with graphics inspired by the adidas Questra ball used at the 1994 FIFA World Cup, while red references the color worn when Orlando City captured its first USL title in 2011.
Philadelphia Union
The Union goes full ’90s with a cream-colored jersey featuring color-blocked bands inspired by Philadelphia’s other major sports teams. A snake-wrapped Liberty Bell sign-off completes the city-focused design.
Real Salt Lake
Real Salt Lake turns to Utah’s ski culture for inspiration, celebrating the state’s “Greatest Snow on Earth” identity through a look influenced by vintage resort style, Olympic slopes and the surrounding mountains.
Vancouver Whitecaps FC
Vancouver revisits its 86ers era, bringing back blue, yellow and red alongside the classic Vancouver ribbon. The chest graphic also incorporates British Columbia’s Pacific dogwood, while a 40th-anniversary jocktag commemorates the founding of the 86ers in 1986.
The Whitecaps will debut the kit with yellow shorts and blue socks against Houston Dynamo FC on August 19, with the first 2,000 fans at BC Place receiving a special-edition 86ers headband.
The full 2026 adidas x MLS Archive Collection is available now through adidas, MLS Store and participating club retailers.
