Lead famously by Pharrell’s Human Race, the adidas NMD has been retooled in many ways in its short lifespan. The latest, this geared-up GORE-TEX number, has arrived in time to combat the stormy season — but not without sacrificing on steez.
It’s all in the name for the adidas NMD R1 TR GTX (Trail GORE-TEX), with trail-inspired traction, heavy-duty GORE-TEX mudguard overlays, and what appears to be a water-resistant upper. The latter provides the pair’s only deviation from black finishes, with a striking tropical pattern in red, auqa, yellow and black for some heavily juxtaposed contrast in both color and theme.
