adidas NMD S1 “Grey/Green Glow” Arrives February 25

First making its way to shelves back in 2015, the adidas NMD was welcomed with an unpredictable surge of hype, due in part to its insane level of comfort, its versatility, its Instagram post-worthiness, and — of course — Kanye West and his timely shift to adidas. Over the past six years, we’ve seen the silhouette go through a handful of remakes, from Pharrell’s collaborative NMD Hu to the newly-revealed R1 V3. Though none have quite tipped the scales like the OG or the Hu series’, the Three Stripe’s all-new adidas NMD S1 has been the line’s most impactful model in years. The first delivery in white was reserved for only a select few, with influencers, athletes, friends, and family scooping up all the pairs, before a handful of small-batch releases across the globe. If you missed out, don’t worry — a lot of us did, so you’re not alone — because adidas has many more colorways on the way, including this new grey and glow-green scheme for 2022.

Almost unrecognizable to its own DNA, the new S series NMD dons a woven sock-like upper that’s more in line with the Nike VaporMax Flyknit than anything from the adidas back catalog. It arrives in four distinct sections; ribbed toes, translucent mid panels, flexible heels, and a tightened collar and tongue weave. The BOOST-loaded midsole now comes fully encased in a semi-translucent high-rise midsole wrap which features protruding plugs that nod the original silhouette. The outsole, a feature really spoken about, is one of the pair’s most intriguing aspects, including special Trefoil tread and an instep block that once again odes the OG. Lastly, the removal of the lateral heel’s special “Edition 1” detailing and branding sees the pair favoring a clean slate for its follow-up release.

Though we’ve come across the official images of the adidas NMD S1 “Grey/Green Glow” a release date for the pair is yet to be set. So while we await further details, grab a detailed look at the pair here below, and be sure to keep your eyes glued to our official Twitter account for further updates on its release.
