The sneaker, which celebrates New York City, basketball, and hip-hop, releases on Saturday, March 21, via the adidas CONFIRMED app and the adidas Originals Flagship Store in NYC.
Grounded in craftsmanship and cultural legacy, the partnership embodies the raw essence of New York City — a place where music, sport, and style converge. The Superstar, long revered as a symbol of originality, is elevated through Avirex’s signature leather detailing and premium construction. This blend of adidas’ athletic heritage and Avirex’s dominance in 90s streetwear results in a collection that celebrates authenticity, community, and the evolution of icons.
The campaign, fronted by Joey Bada$$ and MJ, captures the intersection of past and present — honoring Avirex’s storied legacy while ushering in a bold new chapter for both brands. Through their shared lens, the collection pays homage to creative resilience and the cultural renaissance that defines New York street culture today.

To commemorate the release, adidas and Avirex hosted a pop-up activation on Friday, October 17, at 395 Broome Street in Soho, inviting the community to experience the collection firsthand.
The adidas Originals x Avirex Superstar retails for $180 and officially launches Monday, October 20, exclusively at the adidas Originals Flagship Store in New York City.
