Adidas Just Leaked Anthony Edwards' AE 2 Signature Sneaker

Adidas struck gold with the launch of Anthony Edwards' debut AE 1 signature sneaker, setting a high bar in the basketball footwear market. Praised as one of the best hoops shoes in recent memory, the original design combined performance innovation with the charismatic appeal of "Ant-Man." As anticipation builds for its successor, leaked designs suggest that the Three Stripes is not shying away from the challenge but pushing boundaries to elevate the game further.

An early preview from Sole Retriever introduces a sample distinctively different from its predecessors, signaling bold steps forward in style and substance.

The leaked sample introduces a slimline traction pattern on the sole designed for agile, responsive court movements. Notably, the shoe incorporates oversized forked stability clips starting at the forefoot and extending to the upper eyestay, offering enhanced support and a dynamic aesthetic. The heel counter echoes this forked motif, creating a cohesive and striking visual theme.

Material-wise, the Edwards' Adidas AE 2 sample uses lightweight patterned mesh at the mid-foot for breathability. At the same time, nylon textiles cover from the toe to the Achilles, transitioning into a V-split that opens to an inner neoprene bootie. This design element is reminiscent of some iconic Yeezy models, suggesting a blend of performance-oriented features with streetwear appeal.

On March 5, during its Q4 2024 earnings call, the Three Stripes finally acknowledged Adidas Basketball's sequel to the Minnesota Timberwolf's debut sneaker. Despite no direct remark of the shoe, a lateral angle of the unreleased design was included in its presentation.

Brendan Dunne at Complex caught the image and shared it across social media. The photo depicts a similar shape to previous leaked samples, but with a quilted-like textile across the profiles. It's likely the AE 2 will debut in a peach makeup similar to the AE 1 'With Love.'

According to Sole Retriever, the Edwards' AE 2 will release via Adidas.com and select stores on Saturday, October 4. Sizing for Adults is priced at $130, with Kids' pairs ranging from $60 to $100.
