adidas Celebrates Philippines Basketball With Two Anthony Edwards Releases
Anthony Edwards’ signature line is continuing to move beyond the NBA floor, with adidas turning its focus to one of basketball’s most passionate markets.
Following Edwards's rise as the brand’s lead basketball star, adidas has been steadily using his line to speak to different parts of the global game. Now, the Philippines is getting its own moment, with two country-focused releases arriving through the adidas Anthony Edwards 2 and the Anthony Edwards Believe That 1.
Leading the pack is the adidas Anthony Edwards 2 “Magpakitang Gilas,” a Philippines-exclusive colorway created in partnership with adidas Philippines. The pair leans heavily into national pride, dressing Ant’s second signature shoe in blue with red, white, and neon accents throughout. A sky-blue-to-white fade works across the collar, while red hits appear beneath the black side paneling for a sharp contrast.
The usual Anthony Edwards 2 design language is still there, but the details have been adjusted for the occasion. The tongue features a special basketball-inspired crest, while textured side panels give the shoe a more elevated finish. The name “Magpakitang Gilas” draws on a Tagalog phrase often associated with skill, pride, and proving oneself, making it a natural fit for both Edwards’ personality and the country’s deep love of the game.

Joining it is the adidas Anthony Edwards Believe That 1 “Philippines,” a second release that continues the same national theme through a more energetic red and yellow gradient. Built on Ant’s takedown model, the pair shifts from yellow at the collar into orange and red through the forefoot, with deep burgundy paneling and a translucent outsole adding more depth below.
Like the AE 2, the Believe That 1 also carries local details, including patterned insoles and a matching crest on the tongue. The result is a more accessible companion piece, giving Filipino fans another way into the moment while keeping the storytelling tied directly to Ant’s growing adidas line.

The timing is important, too. Basketball has long been central to Filipino sports culture, and adidas has been strengthening its presence in the country after Gilas Pilipinas officially moved to the Three Stripes. These two Anthony Edwards releases feel like part of that wider push, connecting one of adidas Basketball’s biggest names with one of the sport’s most dedicated fan bases.
The adidas Anthony Edwards 2 “Magpakitang Gilas” releases June 26 via adidas Philippines and select local retailers. The adidas Anthony Edwards Believe That 1 “Philippines” is also expected to release exclusively in the Philippines soon, with a retail price of roughly $100.
At this stage, neither pair is expected to see a wider global launch.
