The ‘Ozweego’moniker has been applied to many different adidas designs over the years, the most revolutionary being 2019’s redesign that has shaped the silhouette for the past few years. Now, following on from the hard-shell, watersports-influenced Celox iteration comes something a bit more technical — the adidas Ozweego Pure.
Appearing to be influenced by outdoor activities, the aptly adidas Ozweego Pure goes back to the silhouette’s origins; the pair is named after a lake mere miles south of adidas’ Portland HQ. Though originally a performance runner when it landed back in 1996, this effort sees a trail-like revamp, including translucent ripstop-like uppers, durable leather tongues, and suede heel caps, and ultra-comfortable textile liners. Though its sole unit remains unchanged, it’s already primed for the trails with a fairly chunky tread underneath. Most recognizable for the most casual of outdoor footwear enthusiasts is the pops of vibrant color that arrive throughout.
First up we have a light clear-based pair that’s paired with black and popped with Solar Red and Bright Cyan. The other to appear is more toned down, featuring a predominately black build with grey and Solr Red accents. Both come equipped with gum rubber outsoles in both light and dark respectively.
