At its core, adidas is a sports company. Since its earliest days, the brand has been committed to developing gear to enhance athletes' abilities across a plethora of disciplines, often innovating beyond what was previously imaginable. Today, the Three Stripes continues to carry out its founder's legacy, but it also exists within the space of fashionable, lifestyle-wear.

Over the last few decades, the German sportswear juggernaut has differentiated its roster of products through two main branding elements: the Badge of Sport and trefoil. The former continues to denote performance-first items, while the latter pertains to the adidas Originals category, which frequently reissues sports equipment from the past for modern fashion use. Recently, the Originals team revisited adidas Football's iconic Predator football boot from 1994 for a new take on the ongoing Megaride footwear series.

adidas Originals' hybrid Predator '94 Megaride is the latest offering inspired by football ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup™ tournament. The project reimagines a 31-year-old silhouette through the lens of 2000s running technology for a style suited for contemporary trends.

Expected to launch in a number of different color schemes inspired by the beloved Predator series, the mish-mash design has already launched in Germany and select markets in an "Iron Metallic/Grey One/Core Black" look. The finish evokes images of the Predator Mania once worn by David Beckham in 2003; the boots were recently remade at adidas' factory in Scheinfeld, Germany. The launch colorway of the Predator 26 worn by the likes of Jude Bellingham also opted for a "Gunmetal" presentation that harkens to the past.

The Predator '94 Megaride features a high-quality build that sees embossed (faux) crocodile and snake leather wrapped around the sneaker's lower-half. Performance running tooling from 2004 provides an equally-bold ride. Profile 3-Stripes faithfully nod to the original Predator football boots, as does branding on the top-of-the-tongue. Reflective accents have been added to select finishes of the hybrid model, as pictured below.

Enjoy detailed product shots of two inaugural pairs of the Predator '94 Megaride ahead. The "Gunmetal" option is currently available via adidas.com in Germany. A stateside launch for the design should take place before January 2026 ends.
