The adidas Samba has undergone a lot of changes since its debut in 1950. Originally designed as a football trainer ready for icy pitches, the sneaker has become the go-to shoe for some of the most fashionable people in the world. As the Three Stripes continues to cater to women consumers, the brand has reworked the model's Long Tongue (LT) version as part of a 'Distressed Pack.'
Unlike pairs offered through the adidas Originals line, the Samba LT features the extended tongue that harkens back to the silhouette's origins. Collaborations with Wales Bonner and Pharrell Williams have also enjoyed the Long Tongue. The brand's 'Distressed Pack' Sambas, however, also make statements with their fashion-forward, color-revealing leather uppers.
'Core Black' and 'Crew White' cover the bulk of the unreleased adidas sneakers. Shimmering golden Samba text on the lateral mid-foot inject a touch of elegance into the duo. Contrasting hues, however, peek out from behind each style's main color – especially on the lighter pair of the two. A women-friendly 'Shock Pink' appears throughout the upper in wrinkled fashion, revealing another layer of color above the surface. Underfoot, the football-inspired sole unit reverts to a tonal makeup across both updates.
Firm adidas.com release details haven't been disclosed by the brand as of yet, but the distressed takes on the iconic Samba are likely to land by June for $120 each.
Away from the fashion realm, the adidas Boston 13 promises one of the Three Stripes' best training sneakers to date.
