As the brand's longest continuously-manufactured sneaker design, the Adidas Samba has lived many lives since 1949. Over the past two months, the popular low-top trainer has emerged in updates ready for the warm weather.
New iterations like the Samba Jane not only fall in line with current trends, but also deliver a breathable, easy-to-wear option for spring and summer. The silhouette's latest mesh-and-leather build follow this same initiative, but in a much more robust package than the Mary Jane-inspired rework.
As springtime inches closer, Adidas Originals has launched two colorways of the Samba's mesh-heavy update. 'Tactile Blue' and 'Hazy Green' tones take center stage, working in-tandem with 'Ice Lavender' and 'Sky Tint,' respectively, to further cement the old school football shoe firmly in the lifestyle space. Suede T toes and leather profile 3-Stripes reprise their typical roles, but the base layer traditionally constructed from leather is replaced with a porous, breathable mesh textile. Underfoot, gum bottoms take on a semi-translucent finish that complements the uppers well.
