Great news, ladies: the Adidas Samba Jane is exactly what you've been waiting for.
Trends come and go, but the last handful of years has been dominated by both low-top leather sneakers and Mary Jane footwear. The Three Stripes recently collaborated with Taqwa Bint Ali on a duo of retro running models reworked through a balletcore aesthetic. While compelling, the French-Tunisian designer's offerings skew chunkier. The Samba Jane, however, combines the best of the current women's footwear zeitgeist.
Firm release details are under wraps at the time of this writing, but what's been confirmed is that the Adidas Mary Janes will debut in classic 'Cloud White/Core Black' and 'Core Black/Cloud White' colorways. The silhouette keeps the Kendall Jenner and Hailey Bieber-approved Samba's signature details, but replaces traditional tongue and lacing with a Velcro strap. The open, slip-on update captures the trendy Mary Jane aesthetic perfectly while 3-Stripes logos on the sides position the shoes firmly in the Three Stripes' extensive catalog.
Underfoot, the upcoming design keeps things simple in 'Gum', a touch that further plays with Adidas' sports legacy.
Enjoy official photos of the two inaugural Samba Jane style ahead. The women's-exclusive silhouette should hit Adidas.com by summertime for a price of approximately $120.
