Adidas Originals has been reimagining some of the brand's most important performance footwear models as lifestyle options for fashionable folks across the globe for decades. Recent history has seen the division focus on the Samba, a football trainer from 1949 that's become an it girl's go-to sneaker.
In addition to offering the silhouette in classic white and black makeups, the Three Stripes has developed pairs donning wild color schemes and experimental materials. For its latest experiment, the brand has produced the Adidas Samba with a velvet upper makeover, a choice that's appeared more recently on styles like the Gazelle.
The popular T-toe-donning sneaker also arrives with a "Sharp Red/Maroon" color scheme. Both tones divvy up the bulk of the top-half, save for the profile 3-Stripes and "Gold Metallic" branding hits at the lateral side and top of the tongue. Underfoot, the elevated take on the 76-year-old design keeps things straightforward in a semi-translucent, gum brown finish.
Enjoy official photos of the Women's velvet-covered Samba below. The pair should hit Adidas.com for $100 sometime before August.
