As Adidas Originals continues to celebrate the Superstar's 55th anniversary, it keeps delivering a healthy mix of classic, traditional looks and wild makeover. The latter category will soon include a cheetah-inspired finish offered exclusively in Women's sizing.
The latest in an ongoing trend of Adidas sneakers covered in faux animal fur, the iconic shell-toe reprises an all-over pattern across its tried-and-proven design. Akin to past offerings, the latest Adidas Superstar II indulges in an unassuming "Supplier Color/Crew White/Gold Metallic" color scheme on paper. A quick glance at the pair, however, reveals an eye-catching ensemble, which places off-white elements across the sole unit, at the forefoot, tongue, and Achilles' heel. Varying shades of brown come together with pitch-dark spots throughout the sidewalls, which replace traditional leather with a hairy material. Together, these components recreate a cheetah's coat, injecting a bold look into the heritage design from 1970.
Firm Adidas.com release details haven't been disclosed by the brand as of yet, but that's expected to change by the end of summer. In the meantime, enjoy official photos of the Women's "Cheetah" Superstar ahead.
