The adidas Ultra BOOST All Terrain was first spotted circa 2016 in low cuts, before moving to extended collar and tongue toolings shortly after. The hype levels never quite reached that of the OGs, but with wild weather ahead, it might be a considerable option for you as we head into Fall — especially now that it’s reverted to the original low-cut, and that it comes sporting a plethora of new features. Also releasing that year was the famed “Medal Pack” of Ultra Boost 1.0s to coincide with the 2016 Summer Games in Rio. An instant success, the revered sneakers retro’d just two years later in 2018 to an equally-warm reception. Now the two 2016 releases combine to bring you an adidas Ultra BOOST All Terrain “Medal Pack” — arriving in Gold and Silver.
All-black bases are a far cry from the tonal earthy palates we’re used to seeing from the winterized line, and blacked-out midsoles reflect the brand’s current thrust behind colored BOOST. The heavy-duty mesh is encased in waterproof guards along with the toebox and side panels — each trimmed with their respective metallic finish — and this time around its not just metallic heel counters that shine, with Three Stripes detailing on the translucent-black lace cage also receiving the full metallic finish. It’s unclear if there will be an accompanying Bronze pair, but it is likey.
