As 2020 rolls on and we get closer to the original start date of the ill-fated Tokyo Olympics, more and more reminders are popping up to let us know that we now have to wait 12 more months to celebrate the hallowed games. The next to surface is a new two-piece adidas Ultra BOOST SUMMER.RDY “Tokyo Pack” designed in collaboration with Japan’s HIROCOLEDGE — a label founded by artist Hiroko Takahashi
The manufacturing and execution are identical between the two; A lightweight and breathable mesh upper features a semi-translucent panel to expose the underlying skeletal supporting frame, classic heel TPU clips, BOOST-loaded sole unit, and rubber outer sole. Firstly, crisp white adorns the entire upper and only offers relief due to the aforementioned translucent panel and typical three stripe branding. Adorning the BOOST sole unit is a playful signal pink circular pattern that is a signature to Takahashi, and is also seen on the tongue branding. Secondly, in complete contrast to its sibling, this colorway is completely blacked out and only presents white on the three stripes, Takahashi’s BOOST design and yellow tongue branding.
The collaborative duo is yet to receive an official adidas.com release date, but a drop is expected to land soon, with pairs retailing for $180 a pop. Grab an official look at both pairs here below and be sure to keep your eyes locked on our official Twitter account for further updates.
