Despite the 2020 Tokyo Olympics being delayed until next year thanks to the current COVID pandemic, we are still seeing a steady stream of sneakers dropping to celebrate with hollowed games like the previously-previewed ZX Torsion announced here. Now, this “Olympic” adidas ZX 8000 is going for gold and the latest to join the list of shoes we will have to keep on ice until next year.
This fairly understated addition to the ZX 8K line up features details that can be missed at first glance, the predominately white shoes upper combines leather, mesh, and suede to result in an innovative yet familiar silhouette. Adding a touch of first place is gold on the toebox and heel paneling, while classic white and black Torsion-loaded sole unit rides underneath to provide superior performance. To help embrace a sense of unity that is synonymous with the games is sock-liners showing the Olympic flag colors — but the biggest shout-out goes to the host nation, with the solitary red Three Stripe branding sitting centrally on the white sneaker —an ode to the nation’s flag.
With the Olympics delayed, we didn’t expect these to arrive so soon, with pairs landing Down Under on April 15th, yet a Stateside release is yet to be confirmed. As always, keep your eyes locked on our official Twitter account for further updates on its release and until then, enjoy an official look at the pair here below.
