adidas & Foot Locker Relaunch OG Derrick Rose Shoe for Jersey Retirement

The Chicago Bulls organization is retiring Derrick Rose's number 1 jersey on Jan. 24, 2026. To commemorate the occasion, adidas and Foot Locker have teamed up for a number of initiatives in the WIndy City throughout the month—including a retro of the original AdiZero Rose 1 sneaker from 2010.

The celebration kicks off on Sunday, Jan. 4, at 1848 S. Blue Island Ave. in Chicago with D. Rose Day, a fan-oriented event. A special photo booth will be available during the pop-up, allowing followers of the former Bulls player to showcase their admiration and appreciation for him. Each photo taken will count as an entry for a contest that'll allow 10 loyal fans to attend Derrick Rose Jersey Retirement Night at the United Center on Jan. 24. Lucky winners will view the ceremony from a suite. Additionally, early Foot Locker reservations for the AdiZero Rose 1 OG will be available on-site ahead of the pair's in-store only launch on Saturday, Jan. 17.

Remembered for being one of the lightest performance basketball sneakers of all-time, the silhouette will land in its debut "Core Black/Footwear White/Scarlet" color scheme as part of the celebration. It's unclear whether or not adidas Basketball plans on retroing other colorways and designs from Rose's signature catalog, but demand would surely be there if it does.

Throughout the remainder of the season, the Bulls will celebrate Rose by giving away collectible figurines of the guard at the gates while supplies last.
