Derrick Rose Debuts His adidas x Fear of God Athletics Basketball II at White Sox Season Opener
Derrick Rose returned to the spotlight in true hometown fashion, throwing out the ceremonial first pitch at the Chicago White Sox season opener on Thursday, March 27—laced up in something just as headline-worthy. On foot, Rose debuted his unreleased adidas Basketball x Fear of God Athletics Basketball II colorway, offering a closer look at the special-edition pair first teased by Jerry Lorenzo back in December 2024.
While the adidas Basketball II is not a signature silhouette for Rose, this collaborative colorway carries unmistakably personal touches. Most notably, Rose’s signature logo is stamped on the heel, solidifying his connection to the project. The shoe also features bold red accents throughout—an obvious homage to his Chicago Bulls roots—and arrives paired with an ankle brace, referencing the storied highs and lows of his on-court journey.
The design continues Fear of God’s signature minimalism, seen in the sculptural midsole, stripped-back branding, and performance-meets-lifestyle construction. But in this version, the storytelling is squarely centered on Rose’s legacy—one that continues to resonate with fans in Chicago and beyond.
The Derrick Rose x adidas Basketball x Fear of God Athletics Basketball II is expected to release in December 2025.
