The Dingyun Zhang x Adidas Samba Releases May 10th

Renowned for his tenure at Yeezy, where he helped conceptualize avant-garde pieces like the Foam RNNR and NSLTD BT, Dingyun Zhang has taken a significant step in his design career. Following compelling projects with luxury labels like Marni and Moncler, Zhang has collaborated with adidas to deliver a fresh take on the iconic Samba.

The Dingyun Zhang x Adidas Samba unveils a refined, elegant version of the soccer-inspired classic. The sneaker bathes in a sophisticated all-black scheme, featuring a harmonious blend of suede and patent leather. The design tweaks traditional elements: extending a suede panel across the T-shaped overlay on the toe, while patent leather defines the structure across the base layer. The contrast of materials highlights the precision in stitching and the silhouette’s famous Three Stripes.

The tongue flaunts a co-branded logo, adding a unique identifier to the partnership, while the collar’s puffed finish nods to Zhang’s previous high-end fashion collaborations. This theme of subtle luxury continues throughout the design, extending to the all-black rubber midsole and outsole, which round out the sneaker with a sleek, unified look.
