The Hello Kitty x Adidas Adistar Cushion Releases October 1st

Adidas is reigniting interest in one of its classic runners, the Adistar Cushion, with collaborations set to redefine the silhouette's place in modern footwear. Hot on the heels of a three-pair collaboration with Song For The Mute, the brand is set to launch a special edition Hello Kitty x Adidas Adistar Cushion in October, celebrating the beloved character's 50th anniversary.

This unique iteration of the 2005 mesh running sneaker is dressed primarily in white, with tasteful accents of light pink, cream, and red that provide a soft, playful aesthetic. The design cleverly incorporates a faint Hello Kitty portrait across the white mesh base, blending iconic imagery with athletic functionality. The tongue presents a split color scheme of white and cream, featuring prominent branding that includes Hello Kitty's image and thematic text.

A standout feature of this collaboration is the thematic red ribbons adorning the upper. In a direct nod to Hello Kitty's signature bow and the anniversary celebration, 50 red ribbons are distributed across the pair—25 on each shoe. Additional design elements include cream TPU panels, cream Three Stripes on the midfoot, and white leather along the mudguard, seamlessly integrating with the overall theme.

The sneaker is completed with a cream and pink adiPRENE+ foam midsole, ensuring modern comfort with a retro aesthetic. It is paired with a matching tonal rubber outsole for durability and style.

Set for release on Adidas.com on October 1, 2024, the Hello Kitty x Adidas Adistar Cushion is a perfect blend of nostalgia and celebration of one of the world's most recognizable critters.
