Ricardo Izecson dos Santos Leite—best known across the globe simply as "Kaká"—has been retired from professional football since 2017, but he's still remembered as one of the game's most elegant ballers of all-time. Ahead of his 44th birthday, his longtime partner adidas Football has unveiled a special-edition Predator 26 for the Brazilian icon.
The boots abandon the team colors of Three Stripes-sponsored clubs for which Kaká played—Real Madrid and AC Milan—in favor of an eye-catching purple-and-black makeup. The medley of hues are accompanied by a distinctive spot pattern that reference the Onça Pintada—a jaguar with which the 2007 Ballon d'Or-winner identities for its strength, agility, and instinct.
Golden touches appear throughout the adidas Predator boots, nodding to the trophies Kaká lifted during his 17-year-long professional football career. Other personal touches—like the Portuguese word for "faith" on the fold-over tongue strap and coordinates for different locations on the aglets—round out the project.
Enjoy detailed photos of the jaguar-inspired Predator 26 boot ahead. Pairs of the Kaká's player-edition design release globally on Wednesday, April 22, through adidas.com.
