Arguably the most popular release of adidas’ reinstated A-ZX collection, the LEGO x adidas ZX 8000 will look to extend beyond its solitary September 2020 release with six new solid-color options of the sneaker for Spring 2021.
The Danish giants may be 71 years of age, but the brand manages to stay relevant through special projects like these. The reconnection to one’s own youth is the key ingredient to its success, meaning that every single pair has its own unique story to its wearer — now that’s marketing you just can’t buy! For their follow-up six-pack, the collaborators take on a more lifestyle-suitable approach, with all options arriving in tonal hues of grey, yellow, green, blue, red, and black respectively.. Although the blocking has been modified, the silhouette’s construction remains unchanged; Plastics again arrive with the famous molded interlocking studs, with dubraes, eyelets, and heel clips all featuring the finish, while classic high-sheen nylons and suede remain the primary constructors. There are a few other consistent elements across the six pairs, with signature LEGO branding in red at the tongue, midfoot Three Stripe ribbon in white, yellow, and black, and co-branded insoles all arriving in the same stylings.
Update 04.09.21 Euro retailers 43einhalb have listed up a release date for the LEGO x adidas ZX 8000 “Color Pack” for April 23rd. All six colorways will be dropping in adults and kids sizing.
Update 04.012.21 // U.S. retailer Finish Line has confirmed a Stateside release for the collection for May 7th, with adidas US arriving a day later on May 8th.
