Manchester United might not be in its glory years, but the storied club continues to receive special treatment from its current sponsor Adidas. Fresh off a much-needed win against Fulham, the English franchise will receive its own Gazelle Terrace.
Although much of the Adidas Originals catalog has been adopted across fashion destinations, it is rooted in sport. Models like the Adidas Gazelle were developed for indoor football in 1966, but have gone on to live second and third lives as lifestyle footwear. The Terrace distinction arrives in 1991, when low-top suede Adidas were the go-to option for some clubs' most faithful (and sometimes rowdy) fans–oftentimes 'seated' at the terraces behind the nets. Man U's followers were no different, making the latest offering from the Three Stripes a nostalgic treat.
The newly-surfaced trainer joins a larger Adidas Football collection that delivers a Real Madrid Gazelle Terrace and Bayern Munich Samba, amongst others. Manchester United's pair opts for a clean 'Cloud White/Red/Core Black' color scheme, with the majority of the upper's suede construction donning the lightest hue of the trio. Ruby red flair animated 3-Stripes branding, as well as Trefoil logos on the tongue. Achilles' heel panels also opt for Man U-appropriate red, with the club's Red Devil logo joining the mix at the spine. Underfoot, the 'T-toe' model features a gum brown outsole that allows the upper's details to revel in the spotlight.
