Neighborhood Modify the Adidas Superstar for their Next Collaboration

Adidas's longstanding relationship with NEIGHBORHOOD, the Tokyo-based label founded by Shinsuke Takizawa, remains robust, reflecting a partnership that has flourished since the mid-2000s. Known for blending street aesthetics with high-quality materials, NEIGHBORHOOD's latest endeavor revisits the iconic adidas Superstar, presenting it in a refined, tonal grey execution.

This edition of the Superstar emphasizes subtlety and texture, combining tumbled leather and suede to elevate the classic silhouette. The familiar rubber shell toe remains, maintaining the sneaker's heritage, while suede accents the Three Stripes and heel tab, enhancing the premium feel. The remainder of the sneaker's upper boasts tumbled leather, offering a luxurious touch.

Distinctive NEIGHBORHOOD branding enhances the sneaker's unique identity. The label's sword and skull logo adorns the lateral heel, and additional branding is on the tongue tag and lateral midfoot. Text detailing NEIGHBORHOOD’s founding year, location, and mission is subtly placed on the heel tab, further tying the design back to its roots.

A contemporary twist is found in the double-stacked rubber midsole, featuring embossed 'TOKYO' text on the heel, which matches the outsole, completing the sneaker’s monochromatic look.
