Beware of Pharrell's "Triple Black" Adidas Jellyfish
Pharrell Williams has given the world a lot to digest in his few Paris Fashion Week showings for Louis Vuitton. And while a lot of attention (good and bad) has been paid to his runway looks, focus has also been given to his Adidas Adistar Jellyfish collaboration.
Unveiled to the world in January, the sneaker takes the chunky base of the Adistar Cushion 3 from 2005 and reimagines the performance upper into a wearable sculpture of sorts. The result is a project that blends nature, sport, and current trends in a package that has gotten many folks excited. In March, Pusha T shared a photo of a never-before-seen Adidas Jellyfish in an all-black makeover. During the most recent Paris Fashion Week, the triple-black style was on display at an Adidas Originals showroom.
Robust in every aspect, the pair features the notorious tonal look across its retro-inspired build. The jellyfish-reminiscent "skeleton" couples with a mesh base, bringing some personality to the stealthy finish. The rope laces and lace guards introduce some reflective contrast into the mix.
