Satou Sabally Joins Adidas Basketball from Jordan Brand

Isatou "Satou" Sabally has just signed to Adidas Basketball.

Born in New York, but raised in Berlin, the decision doubles as a sort of 'homecoming'. The Dallas Wings forward has represented Germany in international tournaments and has been vital to the WNBA's appeal beyond the U.S.

Sabally's move to the Three Stripes may come as a shock to most given her time rocking Nike, Inc. product. After playing for the University of Oregon Ducks–famously the place in which the Swoosh began–the German-American athlete joined Jordan Brand. While part of Team Jumpman, Sabally received Player-Exclusive editions of marquee Air Jordan footwear.

"Joining the adidas Basketball family is a dream come true," said Sabally as part of the announcement. "adidas is dedicated to innovation, creativity, and championing women’s sports. I can’t wait to inspire the next generation and continue moving the game forward with the support of my adidas family."

No word has surfaced yet, but it's possible Satou Sabally gets her own Adidas signature model within the next two years to compete with other brand's highly-successful lines. She and Anthony Edwards could lead the charge for the German company.
