If the adidas x LEGO partnership wasn’t enough to revive your fond childhood memories, then this The Simpsons x adidas ZX 1000 “Krusty Burger” might just do it. The two colossal identities will be linking up this Spring for a series of themed footwear options, each of which takes inspiration from Springfield’s local serveries. There are three pairs on the way; a Squishee-flavored Superstar, a ZX 1000 dedicated to the short-lived Flaming Moe’s cocktail bar, and this adidas ZX 1000 “Krusty Burger”, the first of the three to surface.

Official imagery for the pair has just landed, showing a flavorsome mix of hues based on the fictional burger chain. Being a cartoon-themed release, the use of Joshua Vides-style black outlining equips the pair with a 2D theme, while also serving as blocking barriers between the textiles and colors at each panel. Instantly recognizable is the character’s colors throughout, with hair, skin, clothing, and shoe tones represented throughout — the first-mentioned highlighted by chenille tooling in the rear. The rear branding takes it one step further, with Trefoil branding mimicking the Clown’s hair, face, and tongue-filled smile. And we can’t wrap up the article without mentioning the sesame seeding at the forefoot as a nod to Springfield’s favorite burger.
