Ultra Tech Inspires the Deerupt Follow Up
Core White/Core Black
adidas advocates have a good understanding of Three Stripes history thanks to their continual call-backs on their extensive back-catalog. But it’s not only straight retros that keep adi fans on edge, but it’s also used in their transcendence into modern hybrids and the use of retroelements inspiring new designs. We have seen vintage elements transfer to adidas’ EQT series, its hybrid Never Made collection, the dad-friendly Yung-1 and Yung-96 and of course, the recently re-instated Nite Jogger. now the German giant is looking to enact their past once more on the sequel to the adidas Deerupt.
As highlighted in our editorial What the F*ck Happened to adidas in 2018?, the netted-crep had a lackluster debut, but that’s seemingly only going to inspire adidas to push harder in 2019. The follow-up S has an added mudguard lifted directly from the Ultra Tech, the sneaker that featured in the ultra-hyped adidas Dragon Ball Z collection.
But the additions don’t stop there, with the Deerupt S donning a new-look ankle collar and unconventional lacing system held together by a leather loop.
fancy netting the new nets? The adidas Deerupt S releases at select stores and adidas.com on February 28th.
