Klay makes buckets and bank.
Fresh off the back of a max contract extension in the off-season, Klay’s lucrative deal with Chinese sportswear label ANTA continues to stuff his pocket full of dough. While many scoffed at the idea of the Chinese label, Klay laughed all the way to the bank with $80 and change. And, we think to everyone surprise, his shoes have actually been fairly decent — last year’s KT4 the universal favorite so far. Now the splash brother is moving to his fifth signature silhouette — and it brings with it some familiar design cues.
From a first glance, I immediately thought of the Air Jordan 18, thanks to the pair’s shroud overlay and triangular detail. Secondly, the sole unit (especially the netting detail) is a-la teammate Steph Curry’s Curry 6. That aforementioned shroud arrives in neoprene, while the entire upper arrives in a spotty-textured weave. The midsole remains faily simplistic, with the rubber outsole riding up to form the sneaker’s toe cap. There are six colorways previewed below courtesy of @oklai19,but a release date for the silhouette has not yet been provided — so stay tuned for more.
