Legendary Coach Dan Gable Gets Another ASICS EVO 3 Wrestling Shoe

In addition to dominating the retro runner space, ASICS has a firm footing within the world of wrestling. As it continues to innovate for the sport, the Japanese juggernaut has also taken the time to commemorate one of wrestling's most legendary figures: Dan Gable.

Known to some as simply a guest on the Joe Rogan Experience, Dan Gable is widely considered one of the greatest American wrestlers of all-time. As a is a two-time NCAA Division I national champion, World gold medalist, and Olympic gold medalist, the Iowa-native knows a thing or two about the combat sport. His coaching career included tenures with the University of Iowa and the U.S. Olympics squads, which he helped reach unprecedented success.

The latest ASICS EVO 3 dedicated to the 76-year-old figure takes on a predominantly 'Black/Rich Gold' color palette. Unlike a previous edition of the commemorative wrestling shoe, the unreleased style enjoys vibrant 'Red' flair across vector logos, laces, and other details. A nod to his 1972 Summer Olympics win in Wrestling appears on the spine. Synthetic suede uppers and flexible rubber outsoles ensure top-notch performance for wrestlers of all levels.
