Even though ASICS is focusing their lifestyle efforts on the GEL-Kayano line of late, the brand is still dropping some bangers from their staple Gel-Lyte range in the background. Joining the news of the return of the OG GEL-Lyte III in Yellow and Green comes this all-new “Mantle Green” Gel-Lyte III, which mimics the classic Undefeated palette.
The suede upper utilizes varying shades of olive green, with its perforated base arriving in light hues, and the myriad of overlays taking on slightly darker hues. There is a touch of leather and mesh, the former hitting the profile branding and orange heel overlay, and the latter on the tongue and collar. Orange returns again on the tongue and lateral embroidery, with the heel ASICS stitching opting for a tonal finish. Underfoot you’ll find a clean sail midsole and gum rubber outsole combo, with a vibrant orange heel insert completing the design.
