The Concepts x ASICS GEL-LYTE V "Libertea" Repurposes a Classic Collaborative Colorway
As the Fourth of July holiday approaches, Concepts and ASICS gear up to celebrate with the release of the Concepts x ASICS GEL-LYTE V "Libertea." This release honors the iconic running shoe's 30th Anniversary and pays homage to classic American sport and a previous collaboration.
The ASICS GEL-LYTE V, first released in 1993, was a blend of cutting-edge design sketches from various designers, resulting in a groundbreaking product. This year, Concepts embraces this legacy by remixing a celebrated 2015 Concepts x ASICS GEL-LYTE III colorway, with an inspired twist. The “Libertea” employs gold and silver metallic hits, blending effortlessly with athletic meshes and sumptuous suedes, giving the sneaker a vibrant, celebratory feel.
Concepts' Creative Director, Deon Point, reflected on the collaboration, saying, “Our relationship with ASICS has allowed some of our most unique storylines, and the length of our partnership has given us the time to anniversary product that we’re able to do so with utmost attention to material and execution.” It's evident that the Concepts x ASICS GEL-LYTE V "Libertea" is a product of this dedication and meticulous attention to detail.
While the release date is yet to be officially announced, expect to see the Concepts x ASICS GEL-LYTE V “Libertea” making waves around the Fourth of July holiday.
