ASICS and Gallery Dept. are wrapping up 2024 with an exciting new collaboration, debuting the ASICS GEL-K1011 silhouette. This marks the second time the two brands have teamed up this year after several successful 2023 collaborations, and they’re making sure to leave a lasting impression as the year ends.
The GEL-K1011 is a fresh design that blends ASICS’ tech-runner DNA with archival influences. The shoe features exposed GEL units reminiscent of the GEL-NYC and GEL-Cumulus lines and geometric paneling that calls back to the GEL-Nimbus series. The overall shape and structure draw from the GEL-Kayano, another iconic ASICS lineup model.
For this collaboration, Gallery Dept. releases three distinct colorways, each bringing its own personality. The first, in monochrome black and white, embodies the DIY aesthetic Josue Thomas, the creative mind behind Gallery Dept., is known for. The visible brush strokes across the black upper give it a raw, unfinished look. The second colorway features a white and multicolor design with retro-inspired elements. At the same time, the third "beef and broccoli" edition shifts into trail running territory, diverging from Gallery Dept.'s usual style but still in line with the brand's approach to modern athletic wear.
All three colorways have unique design details, including branded tags at the heel, custom insoles, and the word "DEPT" across the toe box, giving them a distinct Gallery Dept. flair.
These three colorways will launch on Gallery Dept.'s EQL platform at noon on December 7th, with an in-store release on December 6th. The white-on-black colorway will retail for $325, while the other two colorways will be priced at $295.
